I have known Alex since high school, and to say she’s just as sweet almost a decade later is not an exaggeration. I remember seeing Alex make these pastries and cakes at a young age, and as a lot of us were trying to figure out our next move in life, she was quietly and slowly building a mini empire of her own.
I remember when she opened up. The cutest little shop, with such an inviting, happy vibe. She had an array of desserts for you to pick and choose in the front, along with larger desserts available for pre-order Her cookie collection has become out of this world, and if you know me you know I am a cookie person. She also does holiday cookies, along with those little DIY paint your own cookies, fun for kids. We had purchased a few for Easter last year and I have to tell you. Those holiday cookies weren't the kind that just look pretty, oh and they do look PRETTY, but they taste AMAZING. I would sell my soul for her ricotta cookies. And the Mickey Mouse cake she did for my son’s first birthday was literally straight off a Pinterest board.
But the real reason we’re here is to talk about the upcoming Holidays. If you haven’t realized, I am not a baker. Or dessert person really at all. I once made cupcakes that turned out decent but that was many moons ago. So if you’re like me, you may want to only be focused on all those savory green bean casseroles and mashed potatoes, not the apple pies. Insert Two Sweet Boutique. Plan your menu & your desserts ahead and make sure to order plenty of time in advance. One thing I found fun instead of one big pumpkin pie, (you can have your pie, i’m not pie shaming) but is a tray of tiny individual desserts. Give the people options!! And also, have a professional baker bake them. No one will judge, and everyone will be happy they’re not eating burnt cinnamon pumpkin swirl cookies you found and attempted off Pinterest.
Alex was sweet enough to give me some insight on her upcoming Holiday offerings. For Thanksgiving they will be offering:
Caramel apple crumb cake - served by the whole
Blueberry crumb cake - served by the whole
Monkey bread
The crowd pleaser bar tray: Sampler of salted caramel bars, fudge brownies, sea salt chocolate chip cookies, Tandy cakes, and banana bread brownies.
Ricotta and cannoli cookie trays (I’m ordering them all sorry. just kidding. kind of)
Also to get a head start on Christmas, she is offering on Thanksgiving the Christmas themed cookie decorating kit available for pick up. Last years kit came with an edible poem from the Elf on the Shelf!
